Oregon residents who experienced food loss purchased with Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits during the recent winter storms and power outages to apply for replacement benefits.
Households receiving SNAP that faced food loss or disposal due to safety concerns arising from the winter events can seek replacement benefits to cover the cost of the lost items. The reimbursement is capped at the normal monthly benefit for the household.
To request future replacement benefits, individuals must make their application within 10 calendar days from the date of the food loss.
