Street sweeping operations will continue throughout Grants Pass during the week of June 21 through June 27 as Public Works crews make their regular rounds to clean residential streets and help maintain the city’s transportation and stormwater systems.
Residents in neighborhoods scheduled for service are encouraged to keep streets clear between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. on their designated sweeping day by moving parked vehicles and removing garbage and recycling containers from the curb. Open access allows sweeping equipment to clean along curbs and gutters more effectively, improving the overall results of the city’s maintenance program.
Routine street sweeping serves more than a cosmetic purpose. By removing dirt, gravel, leaves, and other debris from roadways before they accumulate, crews help reduce material that can wash into storm drains and drainage infrastructure. The work also helps extend the life of paved streets by limiting the buildup of abrasive materials that can contribute to roadway wear over time.
While the weekly schedule is planned in advance, operations remain subject to change if weather conditions create unsafe working conditions or reduce the effectiveness of sweeping equipment. Should rain or other unfavorable conditions develop, affected routes may be adjusted and completed as conditions improve.
Motorists traveling through residential neighborhoods are encouraged to remain alert for slow-moving street sweeping equipment and maintenance personnel working along city streets. Allowing crews sufficient room to operate safely helps reduce delays and supports the efficient completion of scheduled routes.
