Residents across Grants Pass are encouraged to prepare for another week of scheduled street sweeping as the City of Grants Pass Public Works Department continues its ongoing effort to keep neighborhood streets clean, improve stormwater drainage, and maintain safer roadways throughout the community.
The city’s weekly schedule, street sweeping operations will take place between Monday, July 27, and Saturday, August 1, with crews working daily from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. in designated neighborhoods. Residents whose zones are scheduled during the week are asked to remove parked vehicles, trash containers, and other obstacles from the street during those hours to allow sweepers to complete their work efficiently.
City officials emphasize that street sweeping is more than a routine maintenance activity. By removing dirt, leaves, gravel, and other debris from roadways, the program helps prevent storm drains from becoming clogged, reduces pollutants entering local waterways, and improves driving and bicycling conditions throughout the city. Regular sweeping also extends the life of pavement by minimizing the accumulation of materials that can contribute to roadway deterioration over time.
