Joe Biden clears his entire schedule for the week to prepare for his debate with Donald Trump while his minions hit the ground running. President Biden’s campaign is ramping up for the first presidential debate of 2024, scheduled for this Thursday. This marks the first debate between Biden and former President Trump since their 2020 campaigns.
A memo from the Biden-Harris campaign, released Sunday, outlines a series of events and promotional activities leading up to the debate. Michael Tyler, the campaign’s communications director, emphasized the importance of this week as Democrats nationwide rally around the upcoming debate.
Hosted by CNN in Atlanta, the debate will be moderated by Dana Bash and Jake Tapper, starting at 9 p.m. and running for 90 minutes.
In preparation, the campaign plans over 1,600 events across battleground states, including community gatherings, trainings, and canvassing. Additionally, more than 300 debate watch parties are set for Thursday night.
New television, digital, and radio advertisements will also be rolled out this week, highlighting concerns about Trump’s policies on reproductive care, the middle-class economy, and democracy.
While Biden has been intensively preparing at Camp David, Trump has opted for a different approach, focusing on discussions with lawmakers about potential policy issues instead of traditional mock debates.
