In a commendable milestone, Josephine County’s Undersheriff Travis Snyder and Sergeant Jason Stanton both celebrated their 25-year anniversaries of service today, marking a quarter-century of dedication and resilience in law enforcement.
Undersheriff Snyder began his career with the department in March 1999 as a Reserve Deputy, quickly transitioning to a full-time Deputy role working in Patrol. His early years were marked by perseverance, having survived the department’s layoffs in 2000 and being recalled later that year. Snyder’s expertise expanded in 2005 when he became a Detective focused on narcotics. The year 2012 brought another round of layoffs, but Snyder remained steadfast, continuing his work in the Adult Jail and Patrol divisions.
By 2014, Snyder’s commitment and leadership skills earned him a promotion to Corporal, and just two years later, in 2016, he advanced to Lieutenant. His trajectory of service and leadership culminated in 2017 when he was chosen as Sheriff Daniel’s Undersheriff. Throughout his tenure, Undersheriff Snyder has been a cornerstone of the department, with his extensive knowledge and history playing a critical role in rebuilding and strengthening the office as it continues to grow.
Sergeant Jason Stanton’s journey began alongside Snyder’s in August 1999, when he was also hired as a full-time Deputy. Like Snyder, Stanton navigated the challenges of the 2000 layoffs and was later recalled to the Patrol division. Over the years, Stanton served in vital roles within the community, first as a School Resource Officer and later as a Bureau of Land Management (BLM) contract Deputy for an impressive 16 years.
In 2019, Stanton’s leadership and dedication were recognized with a promotion to Corporal, followed by another promotion to Sergeant in 2021. In his current role, Sergeant Stanton serves as the Training Coordinator for Patrol, where he excels in onboarding and mentoring the next generation of Deputies, consistently leading by example.
Both Undersheriff Snyder and Sergeant Stanton have demonstrated unwavering commitment to the safety and well-being of Josephine County’s citizens. Their combined 50 years of service reflect not only their personal dedication but also their significant contributions to the law enforcement community.
As the department celebrates their achievements, Josephine County residents are reminded of the enduring impact of these two individuals who have devoted their careers to public service. The community extends its gratitude to both Undersheriff Snyder and Sergeant Stanton for their years of unwavering dedication and service.
