At the Grants Pass Tribune, we have always believed in a simple but powerful idea: this is a newspaper for the people, by the people. It’s not just a slogan—it’s a commitment. Over the past several months, many of you have shared your stories, concerns, achievements, and opinions with us, and together, we’ve built something truly special: a community platform where every voice matters. Today, with so many new readers joining us, we want to renew that invitation.
We are calling on all freelance journalists, aspiring writers, business owners, community leaders, and everyday citizens to contribute to the Tribune. Whether you want to write about a recent event, highlight a community issue, share your business journey, or simply express an opinion that matters to you, this is the place to do it.
The Tribune is proudly an open platform. We publish every single submission we receive. We don’t filter based on agreement, political leaning, or personal perspective. If you have something to say, we want to hear it. Our role is not to tell you what to think—it’s to provide you the opportunity to share your voice with the broader community.
You don’t need to be a professional journalist. You don’t need perfect grammar. You don’t need to have prior writing experience. If you have something to say, we are here to help you say it. If you send in a story or a letter that needs a little cleaning up, we’ll work with you to make sure it looks presentable and polished—without changing the meaning or tone of your message. Our job is to support you, not to gatekeep.
There are many ways to get involved. You can write a Letter to the Editor to share your thoughts about an issue affecting our town, our county, or even the broader world. You can contribute a full article, highlighting something you are passionate about—a community project, a local nonprofit, an important civic concern, or a business success story. You can submit an editorial or even just a short community update. No topic is too big or too small when it impacts the people of Grants Pass and Josephine County.
This is an open call for those who feel they have something to say but haven’t yet found the right place to say it. The Grants Pass Tribune is that place. Our door is open, and your voice is welcome here.
We understand that real journalism starts in the neighborhoods, on the sidewalks, in the local stores, and at the kitchen tables of people who care. That’s why we believe the best stories don’t always come from big media outlets or national reporters—they come from people like you, who live, work, and believe in the power of community.
Thank you, once again, for your continued support. We would not be here without you. Together, we can keep building a newspaper that doesn’t just report on the community—it is the community. Let’s continue to engage, inspire, and inform, one story at a time.
If you would like to submit something, or if you have questions about contributing, please reach out to us anytime. We are excited to hear from you, and even more excited to share your voice with our readers.
This is your platform. This is your community. This is your paper.
