The Clarion Theatre is gearing up for its upcoming fundraising revue, “Let’s Make a Scene!” — a lively celebration of original works and local talent set to run November 8, 9, and 16 at 3 p.m. The fall showcase will feature seven new pieces, each bringing a fresh creative voice to the stage. Among these, three stand out as early highlights that set the tone for an imaginative and musically rich performance series.
The event will open with a compelling scene and stirring song from Ryan Imel’s musical, Voices of Awakening. The story is set in a fantastical kingdom watched over by a priestly tribe of elf-like guardians tasked with preserving their land’s sacred victory anthem. Over the course of generations, this anthem has faded from collective memory, leaving the kingdom vulnerable to collapse. The featured number, “Lift Up Your Eyes,” channels the urgency and emotional depth of the story through a powerful ensemble performance. With harmonies that rise and swell, the piece explores themes of cultural memory, shared responsibility, and the unifying strength of song.
This introduction will mark the beginning of a showcase that blends narrative, music, and performance to support the theatre’s ongoing programs. The revue is designed not only to entertain but also to foster the development of new theatrical works by providing a stage for writers, composers, and performers to bring original material to life. Each piece reflects the creative diversity of the region’s artistic community, ranging from fantastical storytelling to contemporary themes.
“Let’s Make a Scene!” serves as one of the theatre’s most anticipated annual fundraisers, with proceeds supporting upcoming productions, educational workshops, and community outreach. By spotlighting emerging works, the revue gives audiences an early glimpse into stories and songs that could eventually grow into full-scale productions. It’s an opportunity for attendees to experience the creative process in motion, while contributing to the sustainability of local arts.
Performances will take place at Clarion Theatre on November 8, 9, and 16 at 3 p.m. Tickets and additional information are available through the theatre’s box office and website.
