The Josephine County Republican Women (JoCRW) are gearing up for an engaging and impactful year ahead, with a focus on local causes that resonate deeply with their members. The group’s 2025 motto, “Find Your Passion,” reflects their commitment to exploring and supporting a range of issues that are important to the community.
One of the central projects for the first quarter of 2025 is the group’s “Caring for America” initiative, which will focus on local veterans. In January, JoCRW members had the opportunity to learn about Team Senior, an organization that provides valuable services to seniors in the area. Members also heard about a monthly breakfast that Team Senior sponsors at Elmer’s Restaurant in Grants Pass, which serves as a gathering point for local seniors.
In support of this initiative, JoCRW is working to sponsor one of these breakfasts this spring. The goal is to raise $900 by the end of March to fund the event, and the group is inviting the community to contribute to this worthy cause. Donations can be mailed to JoCRW at PO Box 2461, Grants Pass, OR 97528. Those who would like to be part of the group’s upcoming activities are also encouraged to attend the JoCRW’s March meeting on March 18 at Wild River Pub. The event, which begins at noon, will feature a lunch and a discussion about the group’s upcoming projects. The cost of attending is $20, and doors open at 11 a.m.
JoCRW is also continuing its support of education through its annual Constitution Scholarship Essay Contest. Since its inception in 2023, the contest has awarded $21,000 to high school senior women. In 2025, the group plans to award an additional $4,000 in scholarships to help support the education of young women in the community.
In addition to these community-focused efforts, the group has planned several events throughout the year designed to foster camaraderie and engagement among members. JoCRW prides itself on being a welcoming, inclusive group of like-minded women who are committed to making a positive impact on both the local and national levels. The organization’s mission is to empower women in the pursuit of good government, disseminate political information, and promote the principles of the Republican Party.
The Josephine County Republican Women are also part of the Oregon Federation of Republican Women (OFRW) and the National Federation of Republican Women (NFRW). The NFRW, in particular, is working toward a nationwide goal of amplifying the voices of 70,000 women.
As the year unfolds, JoCRW members are looking forward to making a tangible difference in their community, supporting local veterans, promoting education, and fostering a strong sense of unity among women dedicated to political action and good governance. With a full slate of activities and projects planned, the group remains committed to strengthening the role of women in the political landscape, both locally and nationally.
