(GRANTS PASS, OR) – This Sunday, community members will have the opportunity to make a real difference by participating in a Riverside Park cleanup event hosted by ParkwatchGP. Volunteers are invited to gather at 2:00 PM between the two bridges within the park to help restore and maintain one of Grants Pass’s most cherished outdoor spaces.
Participants are encouraged to arrive no earlier than 1:45 PM, as the event organizers emphasize safety in numbers. The cleanup initiative aims to remove litter, enhance the park’s appeal, and create a safe and welcoming environment for families and children.
To make volunteering easier for everyone, ParkwatchGP will provide essential cleanup supplies, including grabbers, gloves, and trash bags. All that’s needed is community support—people willing to spend a small portion of their day making a big impact.
“We love our parks, and we want to see them remain a beautiful place for everyone to enjoy,” said Del Aldridge spokesperson for ParkwatchGP. “If you have a little time to spare, come join us for this cleanup. It’s a great way to meet like-minded people and take pride in our community.”
This is not the first cleanup effort at Riverside Park, but regular maintenance is necessary to keep the area in top shape. The organization is calling on new and returning volunteers to lend a hand in this ongoing effort.
For those who have never participated in a park cleanup before, ParkwatchGP is offering a special incentive. First-time volunteers will receive a Grants Pass Park Watch pin as a token of appreciation for their efforts.
Before the cleanup begins, ParkwatchGP will hold a brief 15-minute meeting to discuss the event, provide safety guidelines, and plan for future park cleanups. Volunteers are encouraged to bring any suggestions or ideas they may have for keeping Grants Pass parks clean and well-maintained.
The cleanup is expected to last no more than an hour, making it an easy way to contribute without taking up an entire afternoon. Volunteers of all ages are welcome, and families are encouraged to bring their children to teach them about the importance of community service and environmental stewardship.
With the ongoing support of local residents, ParkwatchGP hopes to expand its efforts and organize regular cleanups across Grants Pass. By working together, the community can ensure that its parks remain a source of pride for generations to come.
