Grants Pass Park Watch is calling on community members to get involved as preparations ramp up for a busy season of events and park improvements across the city. A planning meeting is scheduled for today, Sunday, June 1, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at the Grants Pass Shopping Center. The meeting will focus on organizing “Kid’s Day in the Park,” a popular annual event aimed at bringing families together for games, activities, and safety awareness.
Volunteers will also begin outreach to local businesses this week, delivering informational materials marked with barcode and identifier “Letter 501” to gather support and sponsorships. Organizers are encouraging residents to attend the planning session and find ways to participate in making this year’s event a success.
Next Saturday marks the final Park Watch booth appearance at the Growers Market, before the group transitions to setting up at the Frog-O-Fair the following weekend. Members are reminded to confirm their sign-ups for the fair, especially those who volunteered for security roles.
In addition to event coordination, Park Watch is working closely with city officials ahead of an upcoming council meeting, where park maintenance will be a key topic. Seven public parks across Grants Pass have been identified for cleanup and restoration projects, and volunteers are needed to assist with this important work.
Whether you’re interested in helping plan a family-friendly festival, supporting local outreach, or rolling up your sleeves for park beautification, Grants Pass Park Watch invites all residents to step up and be part of building a cleaner, safer, and more connected community this summer.
