Residents of Grants Pass will have an opportunity this week to sit down, ask questions, and share ideas directly with members of the City Council during the City of Grants Pass’ monthly Council Community Connection event.
Scheduled for Friday, June 12, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., the informal gathering will take place at Lonely Pine Coffee in downtown Grants Pass. The event is designed to provide community members with a relaxed setting where they can engage in conversation with elected officials outside the formal environment of City Council meetings.
Unlike traditional council sessions, which often follow structured agendas and public comment procedures, Council Community Connection events encourage casual discussion about issues affecting the community. Residents are invited to stop by, enjoy a beverage, and participate in conversations about local topics, neighborhood concerns, city projects, and other matters of public interest.
The monthly gatherings have become one of several ways city leaders seek to maintain open communication with the public. By meeting in local businesses and community spaces, council members are able to hear directly from residents while also providing updates and insight into ongoing city discussions.
For many community members, the event offers a convenient opportunity to ask questions, provide feedback, or simply listen to conversations about issues shaping the future of Grants Pass. Topics often range from public safety and transportation to parks, economic development, housing, and quality-of-life concerns.
City officials encourage residents from all parts of the community to attend, whether they have a specific concern to raise or simply want to learn more about local government and the challenges facing the city. The informal format allows for one-on-one conversations and small-group discussions that can be difficult to achieve during larger public meetings.
Events such as Council Community Connection also provide an opportunity for residents to build stronger relationships with their elected representatives and fellow community members. By creating a welcoming atmosphere for dialogue, the city hopes to encourage greater civic engagement and community participation.
The June gathering will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Friday, June 12, at Lonely Pine Coffee, located at 130 SE G Street in Grants Pass. Community members are welcome to stop in at any time during the hour-long event to share their thoughts, ask questions, or simply join the conversation about the future of their city.
