One of the things I enjoy most about writing food reviews is discovering places that offer more than just a good meal. My latest visit took me back to Mary’s BBQ at the Grants Pass Golf Club, and once again, it proved to be well worth the trip.
From the moment I arrived, I was reminded why I enjoyed my first visit so much. The restaurant overlooks the beautifully maintained golf course, creating a peaceful setting that makes for a relaxing lunch or an enjoyable afternoon meal. Whether you’re a golfer or simply looking for a quiet place to unwind, the view alone adds something special to the dining experience. The friendly staff and welcoming customers only enhance the comfortable, hometown atmosphere.
This time, I ordered the BLT on toasted sourdough and added both ham and avocado. It turned out to be an excellent choice. The sandwich was generously portioned and loaded with fresh ingredients. Crispy bacon, ripe tomatoes, crisp lettuce, savory ham, and creamy avocado came together perfectly between thick slices of toasted sourdough bread. Every bite was packed with flavor, making it one of those sandwiches you genuinely don’t want to end.
The meal was served with a generous helping of sweet potato fries, cooked just right with a lightly crisp exterior and a soft, flavorful center. They paired nicely with the sandwich and rounded out a satisfying meal. The portion size was more than enough, offering excellent value for the price.
This marked my second visit to Mary’s BBQ, and both experiences have been consistently enjoyable. From the welcoming service to the generous portions and flavorful food, they continue to provide an experience that keeps customers coming back.
