Communities including Grants Pass, Medford, Jacksonville and Ashland all have events scheduled that offer opportunities to shop locally, enjoy live entertainment and participate in community activities.
In Grants Pass, downtown businesses will host the monthly First Friday celebration on Friday evening. Saturday morning, the Grants Pass Growers Market returns with another week of locally grown produce, fresh baked goods, flowers, handcrafted products and specialty food items. Farmers and vendors from throughout the region will offer seasonal products during the weekly market, which remains one of the community’s longest-running and most recognized summer events. The market also features food vendors and live entertainment during market hours.

The annual festival remains one of Southern Oregon’s premier outdoor performing arts venues, with concerts taking place throughout the summer months. Jacksonville’s historic downtown also continues its regular weekend business hours, with local shops, restaurants and museums open to the public.
Ashland’s summer theater season continues as the Oregon Shakespeare Festival presents multiple productions throughout the weekend. The festival remains in full operation during August, with performances scheduled across its theater venues. Downtown Ashland also offers shopping, dining and access to Lithia Park for residents spending time in the community.
In Medford, Harry & David Field will host games as part of the American Legion Northwest Regional Baseball Tournament. The tournament features teams from across the Northwest competing over several days, with games open to spectators throughout the weekend.
In addition to these scheduled events, numerous local businesses and community venues throughout Southern Oregon are expected to host live music and family-friendly activities during the weekend. Local parks, recreation areas and downtown districts also remain popular destinations during the summer season.
With several community events taking place across the region, residents have opportunities throughout the weekend to participate in local activities close to home.
