Families planning a midweek visit to Riverside Park will need to make other plans for one of the park’s popular warm weather attractions, as the Spray Park is scheduled to close temporarily for maintenance on Wednesday, August 19.
The planned closure will affect the Riverside Park Spray Park for the day while maintenance work is completed. Several restrooms located near the Spray Park will also be unavailable during the closure, although other restroom facilities elsewhere within Riverside Park are expected to remain open for visitors.
The maintenance comes during the height of August, when the Spray Park provides children and families with a convenient place to cool down during some of the hottest days of the year. While the Spray Park itself will be unavailable Wednesday, the closure does not extend to the entire park, and visitors may continue using other areas and available facilities at Riverside Park.
Barring any unexpected delays with the scheduled work, the Spray Park and the adjacent restrooms are expected to reopen Thursday, August 20. Visitors planning a trip specifically to use the water features may want to postpone their visit until Thursday or later in the week.
Temporary maintenance closures are necessary to allow crews to work on recreational facilities without visitors entering active work areas and to keep public amenities operating properly. In this case, the interruption is expected to last only one day.
Riverside Park remains one of Grants Pass’ most frequently used community gathering places, offering open recreational areas and amenities that attract residents and visitors throughout the summer. The Spray Park is particularly popular with families during periods of hot weather, providing an outdoor water play area without requiring a trip outside the city.
Anyone visiting Riverside Park on Wednesday should be prepared for the Spray Park and its nearby restrooms to be inaccessible and should use the other restroom facilities available within the park.
The scheduled maintenance is expected to be completed Wednesday, allowing the Spray Park to return to its regular summer use beginning Thursday, August 20.
