Residents of Grants Pass are invited to participate in a Fall Tree Walk at Riverside Park on Saturday, October 12, 2024, hosted by Parks Supervisor Chad Westbrook. The event will provide a unique opportunity for the community to learn more about the city’s urban forest while enjoying a guided stroll through one of the city’s most beloved parks.
The walk, which is open to the public, will begin at 10 a.m. at the Trevillian Pavilion. Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable shoes, as the route will cover both paved and unpaved paths throughout Riverside Park. During the approximately one-hour tour, Westbrook will share insights on the various tree species in the park, the importance of urban forestry, and how residents can contribute to maintaining a healthy environment.
This educational outing is designed to be both informative and enjoyable, providing a deeper appreciation for the greenery that enhances Grants Pass. It offers attendees a chance to ask questions, learn about tree care, and explore some of the beautiful foliage that thrives in the local ecosystem.
Whether you’re a nature enthusiast, a tree lover, or just looking for an outdoor activity this fall, the Riverside Park Tree Walk is a perfect way to connect with nature and the community.
