The City of Grants Pass is inviting residents with an interest in shaping the future of local tourism to apply for two open positions on the Tourism Advisory Committee. The vacancies come with terms running through March 31, 2028, offering a multi-year opportunity to influence how the city promotes itself to visitors and encourages engagement within the community.
The committee plays a central role in guiding the city’s tourism strategy. Its mission focuses on supporting activities that draw both visitors and residents into local events, attractions, and programs while strengthening the city’s overall image. Through marketing guidance, promotional insight, and destination management perspectives, committee members help refine how Grants Pass presents itself to the broader region and beyond.
A key responsibility of the Tourism Advisory Committee is to review the work performed by the city’s contracted tourism provider. Members evaluate ongoing initiatives, assess new proposals, and prepare recommendations for the Grants Pass City Council. Their input helps ensure that tourism efforts remain aligned with community needs, economic goals, and the city’s long-term vision for sustainable growth.
The committee benefits from a diverse range of experience, and applicants are encouraged from various sectors connected to local tourism. Special consideration is given to those with backgrounds in river guiding, tourism-based attractions, real estate, restaurants, media, and marketing. Citizens-at-large who possess a strong interest in community development or an understanding of the region’s tourism landscape are also encouraged to apply.
Applications can be obtained from the City Administration Office located at 101 N.W. A Street. Residents may also submit their information through the city’s online application system. Completed applications must be received by 5 p.m. on Friday, January 2, 2026. The Tourism Advisory Committee will review all submissions during its scheduled meeting on Tuesday, January 6, 2026.
Following the committee’s evaluation, final appointments will be made by the Grants Pass City Council during its meeting on Wednesday, January 21, 2026. Selected applicants will join a group tasked with advancing one of the city’s most important economic and cultural sectors.
Those interested in participating in this process are encouraged to apply early and contribute to the continued development of Grants Pass as a welcoming and vibrant destination.
