Community leaders, nonprofit organizations, advocates and residents concerned about homelessness and recovery efforts in Josephine County are set to gather Tuesday afternoon as PATH hosts its latest general meeting at the Grants Pass City Council Chambers.
The meeting, scheduled for Tuesday, May 26, will run from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., followed by an additional half hour dedicated to networking and community engagement. Organizers say the event is designed to strengthen communication between service providers, volunteers and residents while highlighting programs focused on support, recovery and long-term stability for vulnerable populations throughout the region.
One of the featured presentations will come from Matthew Buchanan, a case manager with The Hub, a program operated through Options for Southern Oregon. The Hub has become a recognizable resource center in the area for individuals seeking assistance, recovery support and social connection.
According to organizers, The Hub describes itself as “a resource center for the community” that offers “a safe, welcoming, and recovery-orientated environment where someone seeking assistance can sit, have a snack, and chat with others seeking connection.”
The presentation is expected to provide attendees with a closer look at how local outreach services are evolving as organizations continue addressing homelessness, mental health challenges, food insecurity and addiction recovery throughout Southern Oregon.
PATH officials also plan to update attendees on the organization’s current projects and collaborative efforts underway within the community. Representatives from several partner agencies are expected to attend and share information about programs, volunteer opportunities and ways residents can become involved in supporting local outreach initiatives.
The gathering reflects a growing push among nonprofits and community groups to create stronger partnerships while reducing duplication of services and improving communication between agencies working directly with at-risk populations.
In addition to informational updates and networking opportunities, organizers are encouraging attendees to bring non-perishable food donations for the JoCo Food Bank. A donation collection box will be available during the meeting, with organizers noting that all contributions are appreciated as food assistance programs continue facing increased demand across the region.
Community members are also being encouraged to invite friends, family members and coworkers interested in learning more about homelessness outreach efforts in Josephine County and the organizations attempting to provide practical solutions.
While homelessness and recovery services remain challenging topics throughout Oregon communities, local organizations say events like the PATH general meeting create opportunities for collaboration rather than division. By bringing service providers, volunteers and residents into the same room, organizers hope to encourage productive conversations focused on practical support systems and long-term community involvement.
The meeting will take place at the Grants Pass City Council Chambers and is open to members of the public interested in learning more about local outreach and recovery-oriented services operating within the community.
