Grants Pass residents may want to check their street-sweeping zones before leaving vehicles or garbage containers along the curb this week, as city crews begin another round of scheduled neighborhood cleaning Monday.
The City of Grants Pass has released its street-sweeping schedule for September 14 through September 18, with crews scheduled to work in designated zones throughout the city. Streets included in this week’s rotation will be swept between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. on their assigned day.
Residents living within the scheduled zones are being asked to move vehicles and trash cans from the street before sweeping begins. Keeping the roadway clear allows sweeping equipment to travel along the curb and reach areas where leaves, dirt, gravel and other debris commonly collect.
Street sweeping is part of the city’s regular maintenance of public roadways and also helps keep debris from accumulating around gutters and storm-drain systems. Vehicles or containers left along the curb can prevent equipment from cleaning portions of a street, leaving those areas untouched until another scheduled pass.
Residents do not need to remain home while crews are working. Vehicles and trash containers simply need to remain off the roadway between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. on the scheduled sweeping day for their zone.
The schedule is subject to change when weather or operating conditions prevent crews from completing their planned routes. The city will provide updated information if weather causes changes or delays during the week.
