Kairos Northwest is celebrating a major milestone in its mission to provide high-quality mental health care to youth and families in Southern Oregon. The organization announced the completion of a $3.2 million renovation and expansion of its Jackson Services outpatient facility, located at 10 Crater Lake Avenue in Medford. To mark the occasion, Kairos will host a Grand Re-Opening celebration on Thursday, July 31, 2025, from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m., with a ribbon-cutting ceremony scheduled for 12:30 p.m.
The renovation reflects a significant investment not only in physical infrastructure but also in the broader well-being of communities throughout Jackson and Josephine Counties. The updated facility is designed to enhance the experience of both clients and staff, offering a trauma-informed, welcoming environment that supports the organization’s commitment to accessible, compassionate care.
For decades, Kairos has played a vital role in Oregon’s behavioral health landscape, serving young people and families in need of mental health support. The newly remodeled Jackson Services building represents the latest evolution of that mission, featuring upgraded therapeutic spaces, improved staff facilities, and a more modern and functional layout to better meet client needs.
Leadership at Kairos emphasized that this project is about more than just aesthetics or square footage. Executive Director Jeremy Harle described the renovation as a visible statement of the organization’s ongoing promise to serve its community with excellence. In addition to providing quality clinical care, the organization prioritized creating a space that promotes healing, comfort, and trust—values that are essential in mental health treatment environments.
Jennifer Gustafson, Board President of Kairos, echoed that sentiment, noting the importance of designing spaces that are not only functional but emotionally supportive. According to Gustafson, the built environment has a direct impact on how services are received and delivered, making this project an essential part of the organization’s strategic vision.
The Grand Re-Opening event will include guided tours of the newly renovated space, providing attendees with an inside look at the improvements. Guests will also be treated to refreshments and have the opportunity to learn about Kairos’ next initiative—a Tiny Home Pilot Project designed to further address housing and stability for vulnerable youth. As part of the celebration, visitors can participate in a painted rock affirmation activity, adding a personal touch to the occasion and promoting messages of hope and resilience.
With the completion of this $3.2 million project, Kairos is poised to expand its reach and effectiveness in the years ahead. The organization’s leadership sees this as a foundational step toward greater innovation in mental health care, positioning Kairos as a regional leader in the delivery of trauma-informed services.
As mental health challenges continue to rise nationwide, Kairos’ investment in its Medford facility comes at a critical time. By improving access, enhancing comfort, and reaffirming its long-standing mission, Kairos Northwest is setting a strong example of how local organizations can lead with vision, purpose, and care.
