Grants Pass Media is looking for a passionate and dedicated Sports Writer to join our team in Grants Pass, Oregon. If you have a love for sports, a flair for storytelling, and a desire to cover local sports events, we want to hear from you!
Responsibilities:
- Cover and report on local sports events, including games, matches, and tournaments.
- Conduct interviews with athletes, coaches, and other relevant figures in the local sports community.
- Write engaging and informative sports articles for both print and online platforms.
- Stay up-to-date on sports trends, news, and developments, providing timely and relevant coverage.
- Collaborate with editorial and photography teams to enhance sports coverage.
Requirements:
- Strong passion for sports and a deep understanding of various sports disciplines.
- Excellent writing skills with a keen eye for detail and storytelling.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills for conducting interviews and building relationships within the sports community.
- Basic knowledge of photography and multimedia content creation is a plus.
