Residents living in Grants Pass’ Zone 14 are being reminded to prepare for scheduled street sweeping on Monday, June 29, as the City continues its ongoing effort to keep neighborhood streets clean, safe, and well maintained.
Street sweeping is scheduled to take place throughout the day, with crews expected to begin work as early as 5:00 a.m. and continue until approximately 7:00 p.m. To help ensure the work can be completed efficiently, residents are encouraged to remove parked vehicles and trash containers from the street between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. on the day of service.
Keeping streets clear allows sweeping equipment to reach curbs, gutters, and storm drains that can otherwise become blocked by leaves, dirt, gravel, and other debris. Regular maintenance not only improves the appearance of neighborhoods but also helps protect the city’s stormwater system by reducing the amount of debris that can wash into local waterways during rainstorms.
City officials note that cooperation from residents plays an important role in making the program successful. Vehicles left parked along the curb can prevent sweepers from reaching large sections of roadway, leaving behind debris that may not be addressed again until the next scheduled rotation.
The City of Grants Pass conducts street sweeping on a zone-by-zone schedule throughout the year as part of its routine public works maintenance program. These efforts help extend the life of city streets while improving driving and walking conditions for residents throughout the community.
Residents with questions about the Zone 14 street sweeping schedule or other Public Works services are encouraged to contact the City of Grants Pass Public Works Department at 541-450-6110 for additional information.
