Grants Pass residents are being reminded to prepare for this week’s scheduled street sweeping as Public Works crews continue routine roadway maintenance throughout the city during the week of July 19 through July 25.
Street sweeping is scheduled to take place between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. in designated zones throughout the community. Residents whose neighborhoods are included in the weekly schedule are encouraged to help crews complete their work efficiently by moving parked vehicles and removing trash containers from the street during sweeping hours. Keeping streets clear allows sweeping equipment to clean along curbs where leaves, dirt, gravel, and other debris naturally accumulate.
The city’s street sweeping program is designed to do more than improve the appearance of neighborhood streets. Regular sweeping helps reduce debris entering storm drains, improves drainage during rain events, and removes sediment that could eventually reach local streams and waterways. It also helps extend the life of city streets by preventing debris from building up along curbs and gutters.
Although the city plans to follow the published schedule, officials note that weather conditions or other unforeseen circumstances may require changes. If the schedule is adjusted, updated information will be provided as it becomes available.
Residents are encouraged to check whether their neighborhood is included in this week’s sweeping schedule and to have vehicles and trash containers removed from the street before crews arrive. A few simple preparations can help Public Works employees complete their routes more efficiently while ensuring streets receive a thorough cleaning.
Anyone with questions about this week’s street sweeping schedule or the city’s sweeping program may contact the City of Grants Pass Public Works Department at 541-450-6110 for additional information.
By working together, residents and city crews can help keep Grants Pass streets cleaner, improve stormwater drainage, and maintain safer, more attractive neighborhoods throughout the community.
