Rogue Community College is offering free full mouth dental X rays to eligible community members during its upcoming winter term, expanding access to preventive dental care while supporting hands on clinical training for students enrolled in its dental assistant and dental hygiene programs. The program will run from January 5 through March 20 at the college’s Table Rock Campus in White City and is open to qualifying adults in Jackson County and surrounding areas.
The free X ray program is part of RCC’s radiology lab curriculum, which requires students to gain practical experience performing diagnostic imaging in a supervised clinical setting. By opening the clinic to the public, the college is able to provide students with real world learning opportunities while also reducing financial barriers to dental services for local residents.
A full mouth set of dental X rays typically consists of 18 individual images that allow dental professionals to evaluate tooth structure, bone health, and underlying conditions not visible during a routine exam. In private dental offices, the cost of a full mouth series can reach $250, depending on the provider and region. At the RCC Dental Hygiene Clinic, the standard fee for this service is $30, making the winter term offering a limited time opportunity for eligible patients to receive the imaging at no cost.
To participate, patients must meet several clinical criteria. Individuals must be at least 18 years of age and have a minimum of 24 fully erupted teeth that are visible and present in the mouth. Patients must also be eligible for a full mouth X ray, meaning they have not received one within the past three years. These requirements ensure that the imaging performed is clinically appropriate and consistent with current dental guidelines.
Patients who participate in the program receive the full set of diagnostic images, which can be forwarded to their personal dental provider upon request. This allows individuals to integrate the results into ongoing dental care or future treatment planning without duplicating services or incurring additional costs.
In addition to the free X ray program, the RCC Dental Hygiene Clinic provides complimentary dental screenings and a variety of low cost preventive and therapeutic services throughout the year. These services include dental sealants, fluoride treatments, debridement, and laser therapy, all delivered under the supervision of licensed dental professionals. The clinic serves both as an educational facility and a community health resource, particularly for individuals who may be uninsured or underinsured.
The winter term initiative reflects the college’s broader mission to combine workforce education with community engagement. By aligning student training requirements with public health needs, RCC is able to strengthen its academic programs while delivering tangible benefits to the region. Dental students gain experience working with diverse patients, managing clinical procedures, and adhering to professional standards, while patients gain access to services that might otherwise be postponed or unaffordable.
Appointments are required for the free X ray program, as clinic capacity is limited and demand is expected to be high. Community members interested in participating are encouraged to schedule early to ensure availability within the January to March timeframe.

As winter term approaches, the program offers a practical example of how educational institutions can play a direct role in improving access to essential health services while preparing the next generation of skilled healthcare professionals.
