The Josephine County community has no shortage of animals waiting for a second chance, and this week’s featured pet stands out not only for his bright copper coat but for the enthusiasm and charm that radiate from him the moment he enters a room. Ron Weasley, a young dog with an unmistakable presence, is looking for a forever family ready to match his energy and enjoy the journey of raising a lively companion.
Ron Weasley is estimated to be about a year old and weighs roughly seventy pounds. He is fixed, vaccinated, microchipped and fully current on his preventative care, making him ready for immediate adoption. What truly defines him, however, goes beyond medical readiness. Ron carries himself with a playful confidence that turns ordinary moments into spirited entertainment. He thrives on activity, engagement and adventure, making him well suited for individuals or families who enjoy staying on the move and including their canine in everyday outings.
This is not the type of dog who prefers to spend long afternoons napping on the sofa. Ron is sharp, eager and happiest when participating in whatever his humans are doing. His intelligence and youthful energy give him the potential to grow into an exceptional companion with the right structure, patience and enrichment. For adopters who appreciate a dog with personality and presence, Ron offers that in abundance.
Ron has enjoyed positive interactions with some dogs at the shelter, though not all are the right match for his bold playstyle. For this reason, staff encourage potential adopters with resident dogs to schedule a meet and greet to ensure compatibility. While friendly, Ron can be somewhat exuberant in his approach to canine introductions and benefits from pairing with another dog who communicates clearly and comfortably.
The adoption fee for Ron Weasley is one hundred seventy five dollars, which helps support the continued rescue and care efforts of the shelter. Those interested in meeting him can call the Josephine County Animal Shelter at 541 474 5458. Walk-ins are welcome, though calling ahead is recommended as some animals may be offsite or temporarily unavailable. The shelter also encourages appointments for dog visits to help reduce wait times and provide a smoother experience for families.
More adoptable animals can be viewed at the shelter’s website. For anyone seeking a loyal, lively and unforgettable addition to the household, Ron Weasley may be the perfect fit waiting just around the corner.
