One of the things I enjoy most about doing Nik’s Food Reviews is listening to suggestions from people in the community. Over the past few weeks, several followers reached out to say I needed to check out Barney’s Better Burgers on Beacon Drive. After hearing the recommendation enough times, I decided it was time to see what all the buzz was about.
Barney’s Better Burgers is located at 162 NE Beacon Drive in Grants Pass, and from the moment I walked in, it had that classic burger joint feel. I decided to keep my order simple and go with a traditional cheeseburger, something that really lets you judge the quality of the ingredients.
The burger featured a quarter pound patty topped with cheese, lettuce, tomato, and onion, served on a toasted sesame seed bun with mayo, ketchup, and mustard. Sometimes the simplest burgers are the best, and this one proved that point. The patty is made with locally sourced beef, and you can truly taste the difference. It had great flavor and was cooked just right.
For my side, I went with tater tots and their house made fry sauce. The tots were crispy and paired perfectly with the sauce, which immediately reminded me of the classic fry sauce from Arctic Circle, a nostalgic flavor that many people around here will recognize.
All in all, it was a solid meal and another reminder that some of the best food experiences come from listening to the community and trying the places people love. Barney’s Better Burgers delivered a classic, flavorful burger that hit the spot.
Now I am curious to hear from you. When you order a burger, are you choosing tater tots or classic French fries on the side?
