(Washington, DC) – In a significant development during Wednesday’s House Oversight Committee hearing on “Influence Peddling: Examining Joe Biden’s Abuse of Public Office,” Hunter Biden’s former business partner, Tony Bobulinski, publicly accused the President’s son and his uncle, Jim Biden, of lying under oath regarding their business dealings with Chinese conglomerate CEFC.
Bobulinski’s testimony shed light on allegations surrounding the Biden family’s foreign business ventures, a subject of the House GOP’s impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden. He vividly recalled a May 2017 meeting with Hunter, Joe, and James Biden to discuss a proposed joint venture with CEFC.
Key points of contention emerged regarding Hunter Biden’s sworn testimony last month, particularly concerning the timeline of his business relationship with CEFC, his father’s interactions with his business associates, and a threatening text message he sent to a Chinese businessman.
Bobulinski emphasized discrepancies between Hunter Biden’s testimony and his own experiences, asserting that Hunter’s business relationship with CEFC predates his stated timeline and suggesting Joe Biden’s direct involvement in business meetings.
Moreover, Bobulinski accused James Biden of denying his attendance at the May 2017 meeting and refuting his involvement in business agreements, despite evidence to the contrary.
In addition to Bobulinski’s testimony, imprisoned former Biden associate Jason Galanis testified virtually, alleging that Joe Biden aided his son in finalizing deals with Chinese and Russian business partners.
The hearing, led by House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R., Ky.), aims to scrutinize the Biden family’s business practices. Comer emphasized that the Bidens primarily leverage their family name and access to the President rather than offering traditional services or skills.
While Devon Archer, another key witness in the impeachment inquiry, declined to participate in the hearing, the focus remains on the Bidens’ foreign business dealings and allegations of influence peddling.
Hunter Biden’s absence from the public hearing, despite previous calls for him to testify, further underscores the contentious nature of the proceedings and the gravity of the accusations against the Biden family.
