Dayton, Ohio – Last week, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) executed a search warrant at the Ohio-based U.S. subsidiary of Qingdao Sunsong, a Chinese automobile parts manufacturer accused of trade fraud by a congressional committee. DHS agents conducted the search at the premises of Harco Manufacturing Group in Moraine, Ohio.
Harco Manufacturing Group was acquired by Sunsong Holdings in 2015. The search took place at 3535 Kettering Boulevard, the address of Harco’s plant, which coincides with the address listed on Sunsong North America’s website. In September, members of the House Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party sent a letter to DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, alleging that Qingdao Sunsong had relocated some of its production to Thailand as a means of avoiding U.S. tariffs.
