On Saturday, October 19, 2024, eight local authors will share their insights into the writing process at “Why Write?,” a free public event. The gathering, hosted in the lobby and conference room of Club Northwest, located at 2160 NW Vine St., Grants Pass, will run from 1:00 to 5:00 pm. The event aims to give the community a closer look at the motivations and experiences that drive writers to pursue their craft.
Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with the authors in two panel discussions. The first panel, featuring four authors, will begin at 1:30 pm, while the second panel, with another set of four writers, will start at 3:00 pm. Each session will explore various aspects of the writing journey, including the authors’ backgrounds, what inspires their work, and how writing contributes to their personal and professional growth. Audience members will also have the chance to ask questions, making for a more interactive and personalized experience.
Beyond the panel discussions, guests can mingle with the authors before and after the sessions, purchase signed copies of their books, and learn more about the local literary scene. The event provides a unique occasion for readers to connect with writers and gain a deeper understanding of the creative process.
The event is not just about literary conversations; refreshments will also be on hand. Food and beverages, including selections from Bridgeview Vineyards, will be available for purchase, adding to the convivial atmosphere.
