Grants Pass, February 11th, 2024 – The spotlight is set to shine on the Grants Pass Performing Arts Center as the Grants Pass High School Theatre Department brings the enchanting world of Disney’s “Freaky Friday” to life. This spring musical, a heartfelt and hilarious adaptation of the beloved 1972 novel and hit Disney films, is scheduled for two captivating weekends, from March 8 to 17, 2024.
“Freaky Friday the Musical” takes audiences on a transformative journey as mother and daughter, Katherine and Ellie Blake, step into each other’s shoes for a day. Through this extraordinary experience, they come to appreciate one another in ways they never thought possible. The storyline ultimately highlights the profound power of love and the unbreakable bond between a mother and daughter.
Under the expert guidance of Director Julia Cuppy, Music Director Jamie Banister, and Choreographers Tianna Eddy and Jocelyn Schmidt, the production promises to deliver a mesmerizing blend of talent and creativity. The dedicated creative team includes Wayd Drake as Technical Director, Clyde Highbarger as Lighting Designer, Alayna Riley as Costume Designer, Connor Pylant as Special Effects Designer, and Amber Medina-Montoya as Stage Manager. A cast of 40 performers and a 15-person tech crew, all students of Grants Pass High School, contribute their skills and passion to bring this magical tale to life.
Performance dates are scheduled for March 8-10 and 15-17, with Friday and Saturday shows at 7:00 PM and Sunday matinees at 2:00 PM. Tickets are priced at $15 for adults and $10 for students and seniors, with general seating. Additionally, inducted thespians from any thespian troupe are granted free admission.
