GRANTS PASS, Ore. — Grants Pass School District 7 has once again brought holiday cheer and creativity to the forefront with its fifth annual Holiday Card Art Contest. This cherished tradition invites students from all grade levels to participate in crafting unique holiday card designs, and now the community is invited to select their favorites in the People’s Choice category.
The contest showcases the talents of young artists, with students using various mediums, including pencil, paint, and marker, to capture the spirit and beauty of the holiday season. This year, the contest has drawn 29 inspiring card designs that reflect themes of winter and holiday cheer.
Entries are divided into categories for each grade level, including K-1, 2-3, 4-5, 6-8, and 9-12. In addition to selecting winners in each grade level, a special People’s Choice Award will be chosen for two groups: elementary (K-5) and secondary (6-12). A district-level judging panel, including members from the Board of Education, Superintendent, printshop designers, and district staff, will select winners for the grade-level categories. However, the People’s Choice Award is in the hands of the community.
Voting is open now through December 1, 2024, and everyone is encouraged to participate. The winners, including the People’s Choice Award recipients, will be announced on December 2, and student artists will be formally recognized at the December 10 Board of Education meeting.
In a festive twist, the district will also offer variety packs of the winning card designs for limited purchase, allowing the community to share in the students’ artwork throughout the holiday season. Details on how to purchase these holiday cards will be available on the Grants Pass School District 7 website starting December 2, 2024.
District officials urge everyone to get involved by voting and sharing the invitation with friends and family. Cast your vote for your favorite elementary (K-5) and secondary (6-12) designs and support the creative young minds of Grants Pass!
The community’s participation and enthusiasm are key to making this annual event a success and spreading holiday cheer. Voting ends December 1, so don’t miss the chance to help select the 2024 People’s Choice winners. Happy holidays, and may the best cards win!
