Tomorrow morning at 9:30 a.m., Hidden Valley High School will welcome the local Audubon Society for a hands-on all ages community event focused on conservation and craftsmanship. The event, which will take place on the north side of the school campus near the AG Barn, will see members of the Audubon Society assembling birdhouse kits that will be sold and donated throughout the year.
This initiative is part of an ongoing effort by the Audubon Society to support local bird populations while engaging the community in environmental stewardship. The birdhouse kits, once completed, will provide essential shelter for birds, promoting biodiversity and aiding in conservation efforts. By selling and donating these birdhouses, the organization not only generates funds for future projects but also raises awareness about the importance of preserving natural habitats.
Participants in the event have been advised to bring their own lunches, as the activity is expected to last for an extended period. Volunteers and Audubon Society members will be working in a designated shop space located near the AG Barn, a separate structure positioned slightly to the left of the main shop building.
This hands-on event provides a unique opportunity for students, educators, and community members to witness environmental advocacy in action. It also allows attendees to learn about woodworking skills, teamwork, and the role of local wildlife conservation groups.
The Audubon Society has long been an advocate for environmental education and community involvement, regularly organizing events that connect people with nature. Tomorrow’s gathering at Hidden Valley High School aligns with these efforts, offering a chance for both young and old to contribute to a meaningful cause while building something tangible and impactful.
Residents of Grants Pass and the surrounding areas are encouraged to stop by and observe or participate in the project. Those interested in supporting the Audubon Society’s mission may also consider purchasing one of the completed birdhouse kits or making a donation to further conservation efforts in the region.
