Grants Pass, OR — The Josephine County Fair Board has announced a scheduling change for its regularly planned April meeting, shifting the date to accommodate conflicting schedules and the observance of the Easter holiday. The monthly meeting, originally set for the third Tuesday of the month, will instead be held on Monday, April 21, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. in the Floral Building at the Josephine County Fairgrounds.
The change was made to ensure board members and staff are available and to avoid overlap with holiday-related commitments that may reduce attendance and participation. Regular meeting times will resume in May, returning to the board’s established schedule of convening on the third Tuesday of each month.
The Josephine County Fair Board oversees the management, planning, and execution of events and operations at the Josephine County Fairgrounds, which serves as a vital community hub for entertainment, agriculture, education, and family-friendly activities. Monthly meetings provide an opportunity for board members to discuss ongoing projects, upcoming events, budgetary matters, maintenance needs, and community feedback.
Fair Board meetings are open to the public, and community involvement is strongly encouraged. These meetings offer residents an opportunity to stay informed about fairgrounds operations, provide input on programming, and voice concerns or ideas that may shape future fair-related activities and improvements. Public participation is considered an essential component of maintaining a responsive and community-focused fairgrounds experience.
The Josephine County Fairgrounds hosts a wide variety of events throughout the year, including the annual Josephine County Fair, rodeos, livestock shows, concerts, trade expos, and seasonal festivals. The fairgrounds also serve as a gathering place for youth development programs such as 4-H and FFA, and they provide rental facilities for private and nonprofit events.
The Floral Building, where the April 21 meeting will take place, is one of the fairgrounds’ primary meeting venues and is frequently used for both public and private functions. Community members attending the meeting can expect seating and accommodations consistent with public meeting standards.
Director Tamra Martin encourages residents with questions or concerns about the meeting schedule or fairgrounds activities to reach out directly for more information. She can be contacted at 541-476-3215.
As spring and summer approach, the fairgrounds are entering one of their busiest seasons. Rescheduling the April meeting allows the Fair Board to maintain operational continuity and ensure that both board members and the public can participate meaningfully in the planning process for upcoming events.
The Fair Board appreciates the public’s understanding regarding the date change and invites everyone to attend the rescheduled meeting. Involvement from local residents is key to ensuring that the fairgrounds continue to reflect the values, needs, and traditions of Josephine County.
