Community organizations across Josephine County now have an opportunity to seek financial support for projects aimed at improving the environment, reducing waste and enhancing public spaces as the Josephine County Solid Waste Agency begins accepting applications for its latest round of nonprofit funding requests.
The program provides financial assistance to eligible not-for-profit organizations undertaking projects that promote responsible waste management, environmental stewardship and community cleanup efforts throughout Josephine County. Applications are now available, with all requests required to be submitted by July 31, 2026.
The funding initiative has supported a variety of projects in recent years, demonstrating the agency’s commitment to helping local organizations address environmental concerns while improving the quality of life for residents. Previous funding recipients have completed projects ranging from community clean-up efforts to environmental restoration and public facility improvements.
Among the projects previously approved for funding are the Wolf Creek Railroad Clean-Up, asbestos abatement work at the Illinois Valley Branch Library operated by the Josephine Community Library District, the Rogue River Clean-up, the annual Earth Day Tire Take-Back Event and the Illinois Valley Tire Take-Back Event. The availability of grant funding allows nonprofit organizations to pursue projects that may otherwise be difficult to finance through private donations or limited operating budgets.
