Grants Pass, OR – A one-of-a-kind celebration of community, creativity, and resilience is coming to Grants Pass this spring. The Medicine Show Revival, a seven-day festival designed to empower, educate, and entertain, will take place April 19–26, 2025, featuring a wide variety of performances, workshops, and family-friendly activities that bring people of all ages together.
Organized by the Community Forward Circus and supported by The Revolujahs, the event is the brainchild of Banjo Youngblood, originally from Houston, Texas, who is also known as the last acting founder of The Revolujahs and Ring Leader of the Medicine Show Revival. Inspired by the traveling Medicine Shows of America’s Prohibition era, the Medicine Show Revival offers a modern twist on this historic tradition, blending entertainment with education and community building.
“Our mission is to empower, educate, and entertain—because we believe true community resilience begins with personal resilience,” Youngblood shared. “By bringing people together through creativity and shared passions, we hope to strengthen community ties in meaningful and lasting ways.”
The Medicine Show Revival features a series of micro-events designed to engage the whole community. These range from flash mob antics and live talent showcases to educational workshops covering topics such as primitive skills, music, self-care, communication, and creative arts. Attendees will also enjoy variety performances, movie nights, puppet shows, fire spinning, and more, ensuring that there’s truly something for everyone.
Event Highlights Include:
Saturday, April 19th – Mobile Party:
The festival kicks off with a lively Mobile Party, encouraging community members to decorate bikes and cars with LED lights for a glowing parade. The party will start at True Juice at 5:45 p.m. and make its way to Riverside Park, where the fun continues.
Sunday, April 20th – Riverside Park Festival:
The heart of the Medicine Show Revival takes over Riverside Park from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., featuring a full day of vendor booths, educational workshops, puppet shows, Easter egg and scavenger hunts, fire spinning performances, and the flagship Medicine Show Revival performance in the evening.
Monday, April 21st – Saturday, April 26th – Sunny Valley Resort:
The celebration continues throughout the week at Sunny Valley Resort, where participants can take part in ongoing healing sessions, educational classes, community-building workshops, and other engaging activities. Events are designed to promote creativity, self-expression, and connection across generations.
Beyond the main event days, community-focused micro-events are already taking place throughout the Rogue Valley as organizers prepare to bring the community together. These smaller gatherings aim to uplift local talents, support small businesses, and create a spirit of collaboration leading up to the big week.
“This isn’t just an event—it’s a way of bringing people together to share their passions, learn new skills, and strengthen the bonds that make a community resilient,” Youngblood said. “We want to leave every town we visit stronger, more connected, and ready to keep building together.”
The Medicine Show Revival promises to be an unforgettable week filled with fun, learning, and community spirit—offering something for everyone to enjoy while planting seeds for long-term resilience and connection.
