Mt. Ashland is officially one month away from launching the 2025–2026 winter season, and the mountain is inviting the entire region to come together for a celebration that captures the spirit of local skiing, snowboarding and community pride. The Winter Kick-off Celebration will take place on Saturday, November 22, bringing an afternoon of food, music and pre-season excitement to The Growler Guys in Ashland.
This year’s celebration is supported by ACE Hardware in Ashland, whose partnership helps fuel the kickoff as a true Mt. Ashland community tradition. The event not only celebrates the fast-approaching season but also supports the mountain’s ongoing Chairlift Replacement Project, a major investment that will strengthen Mt. Ashland’s future and improve the experience for visitors in the years ahead.
Organizers are encouraging winter enthusiasts from across Southern Oregon to gather, reconnect and get ready for the snow. Giveaways, raffle prizes and live music will set the tone for a festive afternoon, while The Growler Guys will offer food and beer for purchase, creating a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere for families and mountain regulars alike. Admission is free, allowing anyone with a love for Mt. Ashland to take part in the festivities.
Skiers and riders can bring their gear to have it freshly waxed, ensuring it is ready to carve into the first snowfall on opening day. Season pass holders can also stop by to have their 2025–2026 passes printed, making the transition into winter even easier.
The celebration runs from 2:00 to 5:30 p.m., giving the community a chance to gather, share stories from past seasons and build excitement for the new one. With opening day just weeks away, the kickoff serves as a reminder that winter on Mt. Ashland is more than a recreation season. It is a local tradition that draws people together, fuels regional pride and supports a mountain that has served generations of Southern Oregon families.
As the countdown continues and the mountain prepares for another year of snow-covered adventure, Mt. Ashland invites everyone to join in the celebration and help welcome the coming winter season.
