As of Thursday, January 8, 2026, Mt. Ashland has officially reopened to the public with limited terrain and services, marking the start of its winter operations following early-season snowfall and ongoing weather monitoring. The reopening follows initial lift operations that began on Wednesday, January 7, as the mountain works to safely welcome skiers and snowboarders while continuing to build its snow base.
Current operations include the Sonnet, Lithia, and Comer chairlifts, along with the First Act Learning Carpet. These lifts are operating daily from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and provide access to a select portion of the mountain. Available terrain at this stage includes Sonnet, Lupine, Aisle One, Doug’s Way, formerly known as Aisle Two, Lower Juliet, and the Learning Center area. All ungroomed terrain remains closed, and guests are advised that only designated open runs are accessible at this time.
Ticket options reflect the limited terrain availability. Sonnet lift tickets are priced at $18, while weekday Lower Lift tickets are available for $30. Tickets can be purchased in advance through the mountain’s website. Additional lift access, including Poma and Lower Romeo, may become available depending on overnight conditions. Guests are encouraged to review the daily Mountain Report, which is updated each morning at 7:00 a.m., for the most current operational information.
Several areas of the mountain remain closed as snowfall continues to accumulate. The Bumblebee area is being held for a future grand opening, while the status of Blossom will be determined closer to full opening conditions. Windsor and Ariel chairlifts, along with all terrain accessed from those lifts, will remain closed until sufficient snowfall allows for safe operations. A smaller terrain park is currently being developed on Lupine as conditions permit.
Despite limited terrain, most core guest services are now fully operational. Ski and snowboard lessons, equipment rentals, and the Siskiyou Mountain retail shop are open, along with the T-Bar Lounge and Gemütlichkeit Grill. Bold Line Bistro remains closed for now. The Locker Lodge and on-mountain lockers will reopen once additional terrain becomes available.
With snow already on the ground and more in the forecast, Mt. Ashland staff continue working toward expanded access as winter conditions improve. Guests visiting the mountain are encouraged to plan accordingly, stay informed through official updates, and enjoy the early season responsibly as operations continue to build.
