Southern Oregon residents will have a chance to learn about the future of one of the region’s most popular outdoor destinations as Mt. Ashland prepares to host a community webinar on Thursday, June 12, 2025. The online event, scheduled for 5:30 p.m., will offer a recap of the 2024–2025 winter season and a preview of key projects ahead, including a major chairlift replacement planned for 2026.
Organized by the Mt. Ashland Association, the webinar aims to provide the public with insight into the mountain’s operations, improvements, and community offerings. The presentation will also feature a live Q&A session led by General Manager Andrew Gast, offering attendees the opportunity to submit questions and engage directly with Mt. Ashland’s leadership.
For those unable to attend the live webinar, the session — including the Q&A — will be recorded and made available on the Mt. Ashland website. Community members are encouraged to submit questions in advance through a link provided on the site, ensuring that even those watching the recording later can have their inquiries addressed.
In addition to the upcoming chairlift project, the webinar will spotlight the highlights and challenges of the past winter season. The 2024–2025 season saw both dedicated local skiers and visiting winter sports enthusiasts return to the slopes, despite the varied weather conditions that marked much of the Pacific Northwest’s snowpack this year. Operational updates and future planning are expected to be key topics of discussion as the mountain looks to modernize facilities and enhance the overall guest experience.
With the winter gear packed away, Mt. Ashland is also turning its attention to an expanded slate of summer programming designed to bring families and outdoor lovers to the mountain during the warmer months. Running from June through August, this year’s summer events lineup offers a variety of activities aimed at attracting a broad audience.
Visitors can look forward to nostalgic drive-in movie nights under the stars, sip and paint workshops that blend art with the scenic alpine backdrop, and a newly introduced summer concert series. The concerts aim to bring a festive atmosphere to the mountain with live music performances, offering a new way for the community to engage with the site beyond the ski season.
Meanwhile, disc golf enthusiasts will be happy to know that Mt. Ashland’s Sonnet (Front 9) disc golf course is now open for the summer. Designed to appeal to players of all skill levels, the course winds through the picturesque Siskiyou Crest. Access is free and open daily, with availability subject to weather and trail conditions.
As Mt. Ashland continues to evolve into a year-round community hub, both its upcoming winter infrastructure improvements and its summer programming reflect a broader effort to maintain its role as a valued recreational asset for Southern Oregon.
Residents can visit Mt. Ashland’s website for additional details about the webinar, to submit questions, or to explore the full schedule of summer activities.
