Mt. Ashland Ski Area is preparing for the 2025–2026 winter season with new pricing initiatives and accessibility options designed to make skiing and snowboarding more affordable for Southern Oregon residents. The nonprofit resort has introduced a new “Lower Lift” ticket, reduced weekday prices, and announced its official Winter Kick-Off Celebration later this month.
The new Lower Lift ticket grants access to all terrain served by the First Act, Sonnet, Lithia, and Comer lifts—areas ideal for beginner and intermediate skiers. This ticket aims to create a clear, affordable path for newcomers to advance their skills while returning riders regain confidence on the slopes. The ticket is priced at $40 on weekends and holidays and $30 on weekdays.
Mt. Ashland has also unveiled the new Bumblebee Trail, a freshly completed addition that expands the ski area’s Easier (Green) terrain. Bumblebee joins a network of beginner-friendly trails that make up most of the Lower Lift ticket coverage, catering to those developing their abilities or returning after time away from the sport.
In a move that sets it apart from other ski areas across Oregon, Mt. Ashland has announced reduced weekday rates for full-mountain tickets. The all-mountain weekday ticket will now cost $55 for adults and $45 for children, representing a price cut of more than 23 percent compared to last season. Weekend tickets will rise by only $3, as the resort absorbs the majority of increased operating expenses to maintain affordability for guests. The six-hour Twilight Ticket increases by just $1, and skiing remains free for children aged six and under as well as seniors 70 and older.
The ski area also plans to expand weekday operations for the first time in years. Beginning in January, Mt. Ashland will open on Wednesdays at the reduced weekday rate in response to growing local demand for midweek skiing and snowboarding opportunities. Management hopes this pilot program will be well supported by the community to make it a recurring feature in future seasons.
As Mt. Ashland continues its focus on long-term improvement, attention is turning to the Chairlift Replacement Campaign, a multi-year project with an $8 million fundraising goal to replace the Windsor and Ariel chairlifts. To generate awareness and support, the resort will host fundraising events throughout the season.
The first of these will be the Winter Kick-Off Celebration on November 22 from 2:00 to 5:30 p.m. at Growler Guys in Ashland. The free event will include raffle prizes, giveaways, ski and snowboard wax sales, Season Pass printing, and other activities benefiting the Elevate Mt. Ashland Campaign.
Looking ahead, the mountain is targeting December 13 for its official opening day, weather permitting. Off-season projects have included a new guest plaza, expanded night lighting on the Poma and Lupine trails, and the completion of Bumblebee—the ski area’s first new trail in more than forty years.
Owned and operated by the nonprofit Mt. Ashland Association under a U.S. Forest Service permit, the ski area continues to prioritize affordable and healthy alpine recreation for the region. With new terrain, improved facilities, and community-backed pricing, Mt. Ashland is positioning the upcoming season as one of its most exciting in decades.
