Step into the world of musical theater with One Eleven Theatre Company as they prepare for their next production, the beloved musical Oliver! Based on Charles Dickens’ classic novel, Oliver! tells the story of young Oliver Twist, an orphan navigating a life of hardship and mischief in 19th-century England.
The musical follows Oliver’s escape from a grim workhouse into the bustling streets of London, where he encounters Fagin, a crafty leader of young pickpockets, and the lively Artful Dodger. Amid challenges, danger, and unexpected friendships, Oliver’s resilience shines as he searches for a place to belong and a brighter future.
Auditions for Oliver! will take place on Tuesday, December 3rd, and Wednesday, December 4th, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bethany Presbyterian Church, located at 741 NW 4th St., Grants Pass. Prospective cast members do not need to register in advance—simply arrive during the audition window, complete a form, and join the queue.
Participants should prepare a 60-second Broadway song (excluding selections from Oliver!) and bring sheet music for the accompanist. Additionally, a 60-second monologue showcasing acting skills is required. The minimum age to audition is 8 years old.
Rehearsals for the production will run from January through March, Monday through Friday evenings. Performances are scheduled from March 28th to April 6th, 2025, at the Grants Pass Performing Arts Center.
The production team includes Sandra Castle as producer and director, Denise Baker as choreographer, Ron Strom as music director and conductor, Ariel Kostrna as assistant music director and conductor, and Heidi Dooly as stage manager.
