As the holiday season approaches, a Grants Pass–based technology company is once again directing time, resources, and financial support toward families and community organizations throughout Southern Oregon. Rentec Direct, a locally founded software firm, is continuing its longstanding tradition of community investment through a combination of employee-driven giving initiatives, nonprofit partnerships, and sponsorships that benefit children, families, and mental health services across the Rogue Valley.
Founded and headquartered in Grants Pass nearly two decades ago, Rentec Direct has built its community involvement around consistent local engagement rather than one-time seasonal gestures. During the 2025 holiday season, the company is participating in multiple established programs while expanding support through new partnerships with local businesses and regional organizations.
One of the company’s longest-running holiday efforts is its participation in the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program. Rentec Direct has hosted an Angel Tree at its Grants Pass headquarters every year since 2019, marking its seventh consecutive year of involvement. The program matches donors with the holiday wish lists of children from families experiencing financial hardship, ensuring that gifts reach children who might otherwise go without during the holidays. Employee participation has grown steadily over the years, with many staff members choosing to support more than one child. Collectively, these efforts have helped provide holiday gifts to more than 100 children and their families in Josephine County.
In addition to the Angel Tree program, Rentec Direct recently hosted its third annual Toys for Tots toy drive, continuing a partnership that has become an important part of the company’s holiday outreach. Earlier this month, the company collaborated with Weekend Beer Company, another Grants Pass small business, to launch the toy drive during a community gathering designed to bring residents together while collecting new, unwrapped toys for local children.
The Toys for Tots program in Josephine County is coordinated by a longtime Rentec Direct employee, further strengthening the connection between the company’s workforce and its charitable efforts. In 2024, the Josephine County Toys for Tots program distributed more than 3,300 toys and provided holiday support to over 800 children, demonstrating the scale of need within the community and the impact of coordinated local participation.
Beyond direct holiday gift programs, Rentec Direct has also continued its support of broader community events and nonprofit organizations that operate year-round. The company is a returning sponsor of Rogue Winterfest, Josephine County’s annual holiday celebration now in its 23rd year. The event supports local mental health organizations and helps connect more than 15,000 community members with critical mental health resources and services during the winter months, a period when demand for such support often increases.
Earlier this fall, Rentec Direct also became a sponsor of the Living Room Invitational Golf Tournament, an event that raises funds for The Children’s Museum of Southern Oregon. Proceeds from the tournament support the museum’s new Grants Pass location, which is expected to expand access to educational and interactive programming for children and families throughout the region.
Taken together, these initiatives reflect an approach to corporate giving that emphasizes sustained involvement and local partnerships. By combining employee-led programs, collaboration with other small businesses, and sponsorship of community institutions, Rentec Direct continues to reinforce its presence as both an employer and a community stakeholder in Southern Oregon.
As the year draws to a close, the company’s holiday season efforts highlight the role local businesses can play in strengthening social support networks, addressing community needs, and fostering connections across Josephine County and the broader Rogue Valley.
