This summer, Mt. Ashland is bringing back a favorite seasonal tradition, and it’s shaping up to be more vibrant than ever. The popular Sip and Paint events are returning for two special afternoons on August 23 and August 30, offering locals and visitors alike the chance to combine art, wine, and stunning mountain views in one relaxing experience.
Set on the Karen & Sid DeBoer Lodge Bar Deck, each gathering will run from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., giving attendees two full hours to unleash their creativity in the open mountain air. The setting itself is part of the magic—towering evergreens, crisp alpine breezes, and panoramic views that make every brushstroke feel inspired.
Naumes Suncrest Winery, a longtime partner and event sponsor, will provide a selection of wines for guests to enjoy as they work on their artistic masterpieces. The combination of good wine and an easygoing, supportive atmosphere makes for an ideal setting, whether participants are experienced painters or simply looking to try something new. For those who prefer or require a non-alcoholic option, the event also offers a refreshing range of beverages to ensure everyone feels welcome.
The Sip and Paint format has long been a favorite in the Rogue Valley, blending the casual fun of a social outing with the satisfaction of creating something personal to take home. On the Mt. Ashland lodge deck, it becomes something more—an opportunity to connect with the community, enjoy the high-country scenery, and relax before the sun dips behind the peaks.
Tickets for each session are $30, which includes all art supplies and instruction, along with beverage service. Past events have sold out quickly, thanks to the limited seating and the popularity of the experience, so early purchase is recommended for those who don’t want to miss out.
By scheduling the gatherings on consecutive Saturdays at the tail end of summer, organizers are giving guests one last chance to soak in the season before autumn arrives. Whether attending with friends, family, or even solo, it’s an opportunity to slow down, enjoy the mountain setting, and leave with both memories and a hand-painted keepsake.
With creativity flowing, glasses clinking, and Mt. Ashland’s natural beauty on full display, these late-August afternoons promise to be a highlight of the summer social calendar.
