A coordinated statewide caravan and rally is being organized in Oregon as part of a growing recall effort targeting Governor Tina Kotek. Participants from counties across the state will travel to Salem on Saturday, October 18, converging at the Oregon State Capitol for a rally scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m. Pre-rally arrival and parking are set for 1:00 p.m., followed by a caravan through Salem and onto Interstate 5.
The event involves simultaneous departures from multiple regions, with schedules approved in coordination with the Oregon State Police. Organizers are emphasizing punctuality, traffic safety, and compliance with all laws during the caravan. Participants are instructed to keep headlights on, maintain safe spacing, and fuel up in advance.
The Douglas County group will begin its journey early in the morning, departing the Douglas County Republican Party Headquarters in Roseburg at 5:00 a.m. The caravan will make stops in Grants Pass, Medford, and at the French Prairie Rest Stop on northbound I-5 before arriving at the Sportsman’s Warehouse parking lot on Lancaster Drive in Salem at approximately 12:25 p.m. From there, the group will proceed to the Oregon State Capitol for pre-rally activities.
Lane County participants will leave Jerry’s Home Improvement in Springfield at 9:30 a.m., arriving at the French Prairie Rest Stop by late morning. They will then join the Douglas and Central Oregon groups to travel the final stretch to Salem together.
The Central and Klamath County caravan will depart from Veterans Memorial Park in Klamath Falls at 4:00 a.m., taking Highway 97 north before transitioning onto Highway 20 over Santiam Pass to reach I-5. Stops are planned in Crescent, Bend, Madras, and Stayton before merging with other groups at the French Prairie Rest Stop at 11:45 a.m. The combined caravan will then depart for Salem at 11:50 a.m.
Additional caravans from Washington and Multnomah Counties will converge at Bridgeport Mall off I-5 before joining the main procession into Salem. All groups are expected to arrive at Sportsman’s Warehouse by 11:45 a.m. to participate in the final unified approach to the Capitol.
Organizers are urging participants to adhere strictly to the posted departure times, as latecomers will be responsible for catching up on their own. They are also reminding attendees to follow all traffic laws, respect law enforcement coordination, and bring refreshments for the road.
For routing information or to confirm departure locations and times, participants are encouraged to contact Bill at (541) 233-3267.
