Two hunters reported missing near O’Brien have been located safely, according to the Josephine County Sheriff’s Office. The pair, a father and son, had been unaccounted for since Sunday morning.
Sheriff Dave Daniel stated that the men, identified as 71-year-old Donald Pratt and his 39-year-old son, Eric Pratt, made contact with their family after two days. A search plane spotted them during an aerial search of the area.
Rescue teams were working to reach the men from the south, near Gasquet, and had instructed them to remain in place while assistance was on the way. The hunters were last seen in a white Toyota pickup truck, which was captured on surveillance cameras heading in the direction of the Illinois Valley.
Rescue efforts are ongoing to bring them back to safety, with authorities closely monitoring the situation.
