(Phoenix, AZ) – On Tuesday, March 19th, Vice President Kamala Harris unveiled the launch of “Latinos con Biden-Harris” (Latinos with Biden-Harris) as a pivotal component of the reelection campaign for President Joe Biden and herself. The campaign rollout included a series of advertisements presented in English, Spanish, and Spanglish, a combination of both languages. Additionally, President Biden participated in two Spanish-language radio interviews on the same day.
During his appearance on a Univision Radio show, President Biden emphasized the significance of the Latino community, stating, “The Latino community is critical to the value set we have. I plan on working like the devil to earn your support.” He underscored the importance of immigrants, stating, “We are a nation of immigrants.”
Vice President Harris utilized social media, particularly X (formerly Twitter), to share campaign messaging. She posted a campaign ad featuring clips from her various speeches and interviews, highlighting her support for small business owners and addressing immigration reform. Harris shared personal anecdotes, including her mother’s journey to the United States and her own ascent to the vice presidency, emphasizing the administration’s commitment to immigration reform and economic initiatives.
In a statement, Vice President Harris articulated the campaign’s goals, stating, “President Biden and I are fighting to secure a pathway for citizenship, including for dreamers and families, and to make our immigration system more orderly and humane. We will also raise the federal minimum wage. We will invest in affordable housing, affordable childcare, and paid family leave. And when we fight, we win.”
