Grants Pass has added another national restaurant name to its growing collection of dining options, with Wingstop opening a new location at 1060B NE E Street.
The restaurant quietly moved from construction and preparation into operation, bringing the Texas-based chicken chain to Grants Pass after months of anticipation surrounding the location. The opening gives local residents another quick-service dining choice along one of the city’s busiest commercial corridors.
Wingstop specializes primarily in cooked-to-order chicken wings, boneless wings and tenders, with customers selecting from a variety of sauces and dry seasonings. The company’s menu also includes chicken sandwiches, seasoned fries, dips and other sides. Much of the chain’s business model is built around takeout, online ordering and delivery, although individual locations vary in their dining arrangements.
The Grants Pass restaurant occupies Suite B at 1060 NE E Street, placing it near the concentration of retail stores, restaurants and services surrounding the NE E Street and NE 7th Street commercial area. Its arrival expands a restaurant market that has continued to change as both locally operated businesses and national chains establish locations throughout the city.
Wingstop’s arrival in Grants Pass follows the chain’s continued expansion elsewhere in Southern Oregon. A Medford location opened earlier this year, while Wingstop also operates in Roseburg. The addition of Grants Pass fills another geographic gap for customers who previously would have needed to travel outside the city to visit one of the company’s restaurants.
Founded in Texas in 1994, Wingstop has grown from a regional restaurant concept into an international chain with thousands of locations. Its expansion has been driven heavily by carryout and digital ordering, a restaurant format that has become increasingly common across the quick-service industry.
For Grants Pass, the opening represents another change to the city’s evolving restaurant landscape. NE E Street and the surrounding commercial district already contain a mix of national franchises, established local restaurants and smaller independent food businesses competing for customers.
The Grants Pass location opened without a large public grand-opening announcement, making its arrival somewhat quieter than many national restaurant openings. The restaurant is now serving customers, however, bringing months of preparation at the NE E Street property to an end.
With the doors now open, Wingstop officially becomes one of the newest additions to the Grants Pass restaurant community and another dining option for residents looking for wings, chicken and takeout meals close to home.
