Jackson and Josephine Counties, May 30, 2024 – Southern Oregon small business owners now have the opportunity to enhance their skills and grow their enterprises through the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at Rogue Community College (RCC). The Small Business Management Program (SBM), starting this fall, is accepting applications, with the first 20 applicants eligible for a scholarship covering half of the tuition, valued at $300. This scholarship is provided by the RCC Board of Education.
Program Highlights and Success
The SBM program, nationally recognized and SBDC-certified, has a track record of producing successful graduates who have seen significant growth and success in their businesses. The 2024-25 curriculum focuses on best practices for increasing revenue, boosting profitability, team development, and building sustainable business platforms.
Past participants have reported substantial improvements in their business performance, including enhanced financial analysis, expanded markets and sales through effective online marketing, innovative lean processes, quality improvements, and stronger employee teams contributing to business and brand success.
Interactive Learning and Expert Guidance
The SBM Program features monthly interactive learning sessions with experienced business owners and one-on-one business coaching tailored to individual needs. The sessions, held over nine months, cover progressively advanced topics and are supported by guest speakers who are subject matter experts.
Classes will take place once a month on Tuesday afternoons from 2 to 5 p.m., beginning October 1, 2024. The 2024-25 schedule includes sessions on October 1, November 5, December 3 in 2024, and January 7, February 4, March 4, April 1, May 6, and June 3 in 2025.
Eligibility and Costs
The program is designed for businesses that have been operational for at least one year. The full tuition cost is $618, but the first 20 applicants will receive a scholarship reducing the cost to $318. The estimated retail value of this course, if taken elsewhere, is $3,500.
