The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is ushering in 2024 by offering fee-free access to public lands on Martin Luther King, Jr., Day. In commemoration of MLK’s birthday, a federal holiday honoring his significant contributions to the civil rights movement, the BLM is waiving recreation standard amenity and day-use fees on Monday.
At Hyatt Lake Recreation Area in Jackson County, the BLM will be waiving standard amenity day-use fees. It’s essential to note that this fee waiver excludes expanded amenity fees for activities such as overnight camping, cabin rentals, or special recreation permit fees along permitted rivers.
By providing fee-free access, the BLM encourages individuals to enjoy public lands responsibly while acknowledging the significance of Martin Luther King, Jr.’s legacy on this federal holiday.
