Firefighters are making progress on the rapidly expanding Salt Creek Fire, which is located approximately 10 miles east of Eagle Point, Oregon. As of now, containment lines have been established around 40% of the fire, which has spread to around 1,500 acres. However, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office has issued a Level 1 “Be Ready” evacuation warning for the area surrounding Lakecreek, an unincorporated community situated about 20 miles east of Medford.
