Grants Pass Police took action to address issues related to individuals in three city parks, resulting in the eviction of four people and the arrest of one individual for trespassing at a local business. During a patrol check at Morrison Centennial Park, Russell Thompson and Michael Cheek received citations for Buffer Zone violations, leading to a 30-day trespass from the park. Additionally, 11 campsites were posted for Illegal Camping.
At Riverside Park, Marylynn Humphrey was cited for a Buffer Zone Violation and faced a 30-day trespass from the park. A total of 21 campsites were posted, and an email notification was sent to the United Community Action Network.
In Westholm Park, Luke Boger was observed with an illegal burn pile and items associated with marijuana use. He received citations for both violations and a 30-day exclusion from the park. Eight campsites were posted. Subsequently, officers responded to a trespassing complaint involving Boger at the EZ Wash Laundromat on SW G Street. Due to previous trespassing incidents, he was lodged in jail for 2nd-Degree Criminal Trespass, which also resulted in a Parole Violation based on prior convictions for Disorderly Conduct, Offensive Littering, and Criminal Trespass.
