GRANTS PASS, OR—On August 4th, 2024, at approximately 12:39 p.m., emergency services responded to a boat collision on the Rogue River near Two Bit Riffle, roughly two miles downriver from Robertson Bridge. The incident involved a private jet boat and a tour boat operated by Hellgate Jetboat Excursions.
According to reports, injured parties were initially transported by boat to the Hellgate River Lodge, where they were assessed by medical personnel. The response to the collision included the Josephine County Sheriff’s Office Marine Unit, Oregon State Police, American Medical Response, Rural Metro Fire, and Grants Pass Fire Rescue.
Five individuals were transported to a local hospital by ground ambulances. The extent of their injuries remains unknown at this time. The private jet boat involved in the collision sank, and authorities are advising boaters to exercise caution when navigating through the area.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing, and no further details have been released.
